More than 15 years ago on a Super Bowl Sunday, a single youth group was inspired by a simple prayer: “ Lord, as we enjoy
the Super Bowl football game,
help us be mindful of those without a bowl of soup to eat.” They started the Souper Bowl of Caring, a youth-led movement that is now an international event. Souper Bowl offerings are given to local organizations within the community where they are taken. |

members participated in this movement in January 2007 by bringing cans of
soup and making donations for Atascadero Loaves and Fishes. Eight of our young people met Feb. 4th after church at Atascadero Loaves and Fishes. We brought $668.26 in donations and 123 cans and packages of soup. We provided muscle power to help stock the shelves and break apart cardboard boxes for recycling. It was a great experience. Thank you! Thank you! to everyone who supported us in this project. |
