Youth News

Fall Greetings to All!

As I begin this ministry with you all at UMCA, I am reminded of something that I once heard at a youth worker training event: "A Youth  ministry program is only as strong as the Adults who support it."   This has been true in my experience thus far in youth ministry.  So, as I set plans in motion for UMCA's youth program, I am busy putting together a team of adult workers who feel called to spend time with the youth of our church.  I am also anxious to meet with parents of the youth in our church to share ideas and thoughts (just as I did with the youth a few weeks ago).

But, youth ministry is a program for the whole church.  Yes, it involves youth.  Yes, it involves parents.  BUT, it also invites and asks the support of God's entire church.  I ask for your prayers of support and guidance as I begin this new place of ministry with you all.  And, I ask for your prayers of encouragement for all of our youth and parents as we embark together in youth ministry in the days
ahead.
